Simply put, we were done in. Our feet hurt, our backs hurt, we got home late the night before, and we just couldn't drag our over-done carcasses out of bed early.
That said, we made it into the city in time for an early-ish lunch: New York pizza. It was a "must do" on this trip, so we found a little hole-in-the-wall place and stopped in.
All I can say is...
...holy heck!
Look at the size of that thing! It's almost as big as his head--and with our kids, that's no mean feat!
Unbelievable! He ate the whole thing, much to the dismay our teenagers, who'd been calling out dibs on his leftovers.
Sorry guys--little man can hold his own!
Once we'd fed the masses, we wandered off to Times Square, another "must" on the list.
Next on the list was Chinatown and Little Italy--making sure we did some souvenir shopping while there.

We had to stop at the super-cool Disney store so everyone could pick out a new friend.
It was craziness at Times Square, and that was in the middle of the day. The crowds were heavy, and it was a challenge to stay together. I can't imagine how much busier it must be at night--so glad we chose to make it a daytime visit!
We stopped for a minute to rest our feet, and when we looked behind us, we saw this sign--best cream cheesecake in New York. Sounds like a challenge to me!
Little did we know that we had stumbled upon one of New York's true landmarks; a restaurant that has been featured on The Food Network, as well as in The New York Times.
I give you, Eileen's Special Cheesecake, and oh man, was it special!!
And we found it completely by accident, though the tour bus that unloaded in front of it as we were leaving tipped us off that it was maybe just a bit famous!

It was so good, and was just the pick-me-up we needed to press on through Little Italy and back to the subway.
We knew we wanted to stop and see the Manhattan LDS Temple before heading back to the park for some more play time. It was so nice to step inside and be completely away from the noise and bustle of the city. The Temple is across the street from Lincoln Center, just a couple of blocks from Central Park--prime real estate, there!
We were at the south end of the Central Park this time,
with a different playground and a lot more children!
While the big kids soaked up the sun, Dallin found a buddy and got busy.
It makes me laugh that he found another little boy dressed in almost the exact same clothes--they were great "volcano" building partners!
It was a fun day, but we were ready to find some dinner and head back to our warm, cozy, soft beds. I guess we were still a little tired!
